In this smaller, more intimate painting, Aaron Ford revisits the same childhood memory on the beach in Ojén as ‘Man with Two Children on a Beach’. The work is minimal, capturing just his father's presence in Tyrian purple, connecting the emory to the premise of the show and its migratory references. The pigment Ford has created here, is mixed from both the rare murex glands and the more expensive Tyrian pigment. It offers a subtle yet powerful commentary on the blending of cultural legacies and personal narratives. The glass surface not only serves as a reflective medium but also connects back to the physicality of the process: the drying of the murex glands on glass, the transformation of materials, and the role of reflection in both the artistic and personal journey.
